JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary & Requirements

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the organization's day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position manages the monthly accounting cycle, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.

The Accounting Manager supports budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, grant accounting, and revenue cycle financial reconciliations while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), organizational policies, and applicable federal and state regulations. This position also performs accounting data entry and transaction processing as needed and collaborates with finance and operational departments to maintain accurate financial records and support organizational decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

  • Accounting experience preferred.

  • Experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.

  • Knowledge of GAAP.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Experience with grant accounting, audit preparation, financial reporting, and revenue cycle accounting.

  • Experience working independently and managing multiple priorities.
