Accounting Manager — Sudbury, ON (Full-Time, On-Site)


A well-established Northern Ontario group of companies operating across construction and related industries is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations across multiple entities. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to senior management, ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a multi-company, fast-paced environment.


What you'll do:

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting across multiple companies within the group
  • Manage month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Prepare and review consolidated and entity-level financial statements
  • Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial insights, reporting, and recommendations
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including AP/AR and junior accountants
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal controls
  • Review and improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiencies
  • Support project costing, job profitability analysis, and reporting for construction operations


What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation (or in progress) preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience — construction accounting experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting in a multi-entity setting
  • Experience with construction accounting software (Jonas an asset)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
