Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Loss and Prevention and Safety to join our dynamic team at ShipMonk. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of safety, loss prevention, and risk management initiatives within our fulfillment center operations. This individual will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to ensure the safety of our employees, protect company assets, and minimize operational risk.
What you'll do:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Establish, lead and manage safety and loss prevention initiatives, providing guidance, coaching, and support to stakeholders in order to drive a culture of safety and risk awareness.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of fulfillment center facilities to identify potential safety hazards and security vulnerabilities, and develop action plans to address any issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement training programs that promote safe work practices, accident prevention, and emergency preparedness.
  • Oversee the investigation of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, law enforcement, and other external stakeholders to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive loss prevention program to minimize theft, shrinkage, and fraud within the fulfillment center operations.
  • Analyze data and trends related to safety, loss prevention, and risk management to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive measures to mitigate potential risks.
  • Develop and manage the budget for safety, loss prevention, and risk management initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve organizational objectives.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, risk management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven track record of at least 7 years of experience in a senior safety and loss prevention leadership role within a large-scale fulfillment center, distribution center, or similar operational environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and best practices in safety management and loss prevention.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of safety and loss prevention professionals.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a focus on proactive risk management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software, incident reporting systems, and data analysis tools.

This is an onsite position and the individual must sit local to one of our fulfillment centers in Las Vegas, NV, Pittston, PA, or Louisville, KY
