Job description


We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Operational Risk Framework to join Operational Risk team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • As a Vice President in the Operational Risk Framework Program, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening BNY's risk management framework by leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Operational Risk Event and Metrics Programs.
  • You will ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices while driving collaboration and seamless integration between Events, Limits and Indicators Programs
  • Support team in ownership of operational risk policies, procedures, and training, driving consistent first- and second-line execution, strengthening risk governance, and supporting effective stakeholder adoption.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance the Operational Risk framework by fostering cross-program collaboration and integration, ensuring consistency and synergy across the operational risk management programs.
  • Collaborate closely with first line partners and other program leads to ensure timely identification, assessment, escalation, and event remediation in an integrated and efficient manner.
  • Develop and optimize end-to-end risk processes, workflows, and tools that support cross-program data sharing, reporting, and risk insights to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to proactively update the risk framework and maintain compliance, ensuring alignment with other risk and control programs.
  • Prepare and present integrated reports, dashboards, and insights on risk and control outcomes, risk trends, and remediation progress to senior management and governance committees, highlighting cross-program risk perspectives.
  • Foster strong partnerships across business units, risk functions, and other program teams to embed integrated risk practices into daily operations and decision-making.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • 6-10 years of experience in risk management, control frameworks, or compliance within a financial services environment, with demonstrated success in cross-program integration.
  • Strong knowledge of risk methodologies and second line of defense responsibilities, including experience integrating multiple risk and control programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across multiple business lines and risk programs.
  • Ability to analyze complex risk data across programs and translate into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Familiarity in Risk Assessment Programs such as Operational Risk Event Management, Issue Management, Risk Appetite Limits and Key Risk Indicators.
