What you will do

Johnson Controls is a global organization focused on smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, and this role supports customers with secure, integrated solutions that help programs move forward with confidence. In Government Technologies Division, you will contribute technical depth, design rigor, and practical problem-solving to PMO projects and programs.

In this role, you will be responsible for generating system designs and estimates to support Government Technologies Division PMO projects and programs. You will analyze pre- and post-sale customer needs, determine system objectives and requirements, and develop solutions for new or existing applications. Success in this role means delivering accurate, customer-focused designs that support program execution, technical alignment, and dependable outcomes.

How you will do it
  • Develop system designs and estimates for PMO projects and programs, supporting both pre-sale and post-sale activity.
  • Design and review program-related integrated systems for Government Technologies Division customers.
  • Analyze customer requirements, define system objectives, and translate needs into workable technical solutions.
  • Prepare technical take-offs, scope details, submittal documentation, and requests for clarification as needed.
  • Review equipment applications to ensure compatibility, completeness, and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, working drawings, installation drawings, software, system programs, and product manuals.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide high-level technical support for internal teams and customers.
  • Support bench testing, field programming, commissioning, and final acceptance documentation for integrated security solutions.
  • Provide user training and mentoring support to field Installation and Service Teams as well as customers nationwide.
  • Own the quality of your designs and estimates by validating assumptions, checking compatibility, and documenting solutions accurately from concept through final acceptance.
  • Stay close to the work by collaborating with PMO stakeholders, field teams, and customers to understand real operating conditions and remove obstacles early.
  • Use clear, candid problem-solving when reviewing drawings, submittals, and system programs, then refine solutions through testing and technical feedback.
  • Work as one team with sales, engineering, installation, service, and program management so solutions reflect diverse perspectives and deployment realities.
  • Apply a practical, safety-minded approach when supporting access control, intercom, CCTV, and related integrated systems.
  • Keep documentation, estimates, and technical guidance current so program teams can move quickly with confidence.
What we look for Required
