Job description

Duties and Responsibilities of the Jobย

  • Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of the HPPS lean manufacturing processes and toolsย 
  • Educate key people within the organization on the recommended approaches for continuous process improvement.ย 
  • Lead training to implement identified strategies for improvement.ย ย 
  • Focus on continuous improvement to eliminate short and long-term problems.ย ย 
  • Build commitment and understanding of the HPPS lean principles to accomplish the improvement goals for the organization.ย ย 
  • Assist in the development of the Value Stream Maps.ย ย 
  • Facilitate the setting of priorities, objectives, goals, measures and metrics for process improvement projects, ensuring that these are monitored and controlled.ย ย 
  • Ensure that a project plan is developed and agreed for each VSMย ย 
  • Specify the appropriate lean process improvement methodologies and tools.ย ย 
  • Work with shop floor managers to plan and lead improvement projects.ย ย 
  • Involve management in improvement projects in an effort to eliminate barriers to team success.ย ย 
  • Provide guidance to sustain improvement changes.ย ย 
  • Communicate lessons learned and best practices from improvement skills preferred to perform the jobย 
  • Accepts assignments and other responsibilities as required to support team objectives.ย 
  • Required to adhere to applicable TS16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.ย 
  • Required to adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety Regulations.ย 

Educationalย Requirementsย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineeringย ย 
  • 5 yearsโ€™ experience in a Lean Manufacturing leadership roleย 
  • Experience in the application of Industrial Engineering principles and concepts are desired, preferably with Time & Motion studies.ย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.ย 
  • Formal training/certification in lean manufacturing.ย ย 
  • Experience of facilitating and training a technical work force.ย ย 
  • Strong ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and worldwide entities.ย 
  • Proven experience in implementing lean manufacturing tools in a manufacturing environment.ย ย 
  • Strong knowledge of MRP and Microsoft Office software and particularly spreadsheet applications.ย 
  • Detail orientated.ย ย 
  • Strong ability to work independently.ย 
  • Ability to travel as needed.ย
