Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: Bachelorโ€™s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field.

Skill(s): Proficient in English, reading, writing, and grammar skills; proficient analytical, mathematics skills, and accounting skills; proficient communication, interpersonal relations, and customer service skills; proficient PC skills including knowledge of job-related software applications; ability to operate various office machines; demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years' related experience in banking operations, with at least two (2) years in a managerial role.

General Responsibilities:

The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and service functions of the branch, ensuring compliance with security and operational policies. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and critical thinking skills, along with excellent customer service, communication, and time management abilities. The responsibilities include supervising branch staff, ensuring efficient and accurate banking services, and maintaining compliance with policies. The role also involves acting as a backup to the Branch Manager and being part of the branch's overall management team. Proficiency in banking software and risk management is essential.

Essential Duties

  1. Directly supervises branch staff to ensure efficient and accurate banking services as follows:
    • Ensures that staff are providing complete and accurate debit and credit services to customers.
    • Ensures that all debits and credits, balancing, and operational activities are done efficiently and according to policy; this includes the activities of branch personnel, ATM services, and other banking activities.
    • Ensures that all staff work as part of the customer service team and take advantage of new business referral opportunities, expand existing customer relationships, and enhance customer relationships.
  2. Ensures that all staff follow customer service standards.
    • Ensures the coordination of work, i.e., makes certain that the work of the branch is coordinated with other positions in the branch office, with centralized operations personnel, and other Bank departments.
    • Conducts monthly audits and assists the Assistant Branch Manager with other audits and operational duties as needed.
    • Ensures accurate preparation of various reports.
    • Ensures that all staff have an adequate supply of cash to conduct business; maintains the level of cash according to approved cash management policies.
    • Manages and balances vault, cash shipments, reconciliations, and cash transfers.
    • Balances night depository activity and ATM machines.
    • Ensures timely review of various branch reports for accuracy
    • Ensures timely submission of required reporting.
    • Participates in weekly branch meetings.
    • Participates in branch planned meetings.
    • Operates as a backup to the others part of management team.

  4. Participates with the Assistant Branch Manager in establishing specific goals for the branch; implements strategies to achieve these goals.
  5. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  6. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  7. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensures that branch staff adhere to the same.
  8. Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:
    1. Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.
    2. Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel; trains new personnel as required.
    3. Reviews employee performance throughout the initial probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
    4. Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.
    5. Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the branch office/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.
    6. Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by Bank policy.
  9. Communicates with the other supervisors, and appropriate staff personnel to integrate activities.
  10. Provides timely reporting to appropriate groups or individuals.
  11. Communicates effectively with BM, ABM, USM, Regionals, and Back Office.
