Spring 2027 Operations Intern (Westfield, IN)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Spring 2027 Operations Intern. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of large-scale amateur baseball tournaments. As an Operations Intern, you will play a crucial part in executing all phases of game-day operations at Grand Park, in Westfield Indiana, contributing to a seamless and positive experience for players, coaches, and fans. This internship is ideal for individuals passionate about sports management, event operations, and facility coordination.

Prep Baseball Tournaments is a premier organizer of amateur baseball events, dedicated to providing top-tier competition and experiences for players of all ages and skill levels. Our tournaments are held at exceptional facilities across the country, including the renowned Grand Park. Grand Park is a state-of-the-art 26-diamond facility that hosts some of the largest and most competitive amateur baseball tournaments in the nation. We are committed to excellence in every aspect of our operations, ensuring a memorable event for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily tournament operations and game-day preparation, ensuring all fields and facilities are ready for play.
  • Support the coordination and execution of baseball events, including field setup, registration, and participant assistance.
  • Maintain efficient communication with partnered companies, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Accurately record scores and assist in updating tournament schedules and standings in a timely manner.
  • Assist managers with communication and support for onsite operations staff.
  • Support umpire coordination, ensuring schedules are communicated and issues are addressed.
  • Utilize radio communication to facilitate smooth operations across the facility.
  • Assist with tournament scheduling and managing communication channels for participating teams.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of facilities, including dugouts, common areas, and equipment storage.
  • Provide excellent customer service to players, coaches, parents, and visitors, addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Assist with inventory management of baseball equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
  • Perform data entry for records, schedules, participant information, and feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with facility rules, safety protocols, and operational procedures to maintain a secure and efficient environment.

Qualifications:
  • Enthusiastic passion for baseball and sports management.
  • Experience working in baseball/softball or other sports (e.g., playing, coaching, game operations) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable work schedule, including the ability to work long hours, weekends, and evenings as required by tournament schedules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills.
  • Must have an excellent attitude and a strong work ethic.

Tournament Schedule & Hours:
This internship primarily runs 10 weeks from March through May 2027, with a flexible start date. Interns can expect to work 35+ hours per week, with significant time spent on weekends during tournament play.
