Job description

Job Overview
Summer 2027 Intern - Manufacturing Engineering (Houston, TX)
Join Keurig Dr Pepper's Houston manufacturing team and help drive sustainability, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives within one of the company's largest beverage production facilities. This hands-on internship will focus on reducing water usage, improving operational performance, and supporting manufacturing excellence through data analytics, automation, and TPM initiatives. The intern will work directly with EHS, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Plant Leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities, streamline processes using Power BI and Power Automate, and contribute to Kaizen and continuous improvement projects that deliver measurable business results.
This role is aligned to the Beverage Operating Unit.
Shift/Schedule
  • The KDP 2027 Summer Internship Program will run from June 7 - August 13, 2027
  • Full-time; 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00am until 5:00pm
  • In-person in our Houston, TX plant

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern you will:
  • Analyze water consumption data and support projects focused on reducing Water Usage Ratio (WUR) and utility costs.
  • Develop and improve Power BI dashboards and Power Automate workflows that automate reporting, action-item tracking, and operational processes.
  • Support TPM, 5S, and Continuous Improvement initiatives by identifying losses, tracking improvement opportunities, and participating in kaizen events.
  • Manage project action items, conduct follow-up with stakeholders, and help drive implementation of cost-saving and process improvement opportunities across the facility.

  • Engaging and partnering on innovative projects to gain experience in a fast paced, cross functional team environment
  • Receive mentor support for your professional development
  • Participate in meet & greets and lunch & learns with KDP executives and other organization leaders
  • Receive professional development training such as networking, professional skills development and presenting
  • Complete a project from start to finish and present it and your takeaways to your team, department, and senior leaders to highlight your project work and impact on the business

Requirements
  • Undergraduate currently enrolled in a full time academic program from an accredited college or university, majoring in Engineering, Supply Chain, or another Manufacturing-related field
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills including excellent listening, written, and verbal abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, be independently driven, and adapt to changes
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Power BI and/or Power Automate, Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S, or Continuous Improvement principles is preferred
  • Experience working with data analytics or process improvement projects, Interest in manufacturing, sustainability, operational excellence, and cost-reduction initiatives is a plus
