What is an Operations Manager?

An Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing or operational activities to ensure efficiency, safety, quality, and cost performance. This role leads teams, manages processes, and drives continuous improvement within a facility or business unit.

What You Can Expect to Do as an Operations Manager:

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring production targets and performance goals are met
  • Lead and develop operations teams, including supervisors and frontline employees
  • Drive initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost control
  • Monitor KPIs and implement improvements to enhance operational performance
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Support process improvements, standardization, and operational efficiency
  • Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation

What We Are Looking For in an Operations Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations leadership
  • Prior experience managing teams in a plant or industrial environment
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
