Position

Operations Assistant

Overview

Reports to Operations Supervisor

This individual will work to provide the highest level of quality service to our customers to insure complete satisfaction by meeting or exceeding their expectations.

The Operations Assistant provides assistance to operations dispatchers and planners in daily department activities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with operations, customer service, drivers and customers.
  • Track and trace shipments from entry through billing.
  • Execute shipment plans within the scope of branch operations and United Van Lines.
  • Update shipment status daily.
  • Timely status of all orders in the computer as required.
  • Research delivery, status, and billing problems.
  • Rating and memoing of previous day’s paperwork.
  • Inform Customer Service representatives of any problems regarding an order immediately.
  • Maintain excellent communications with customers scheduling and timeliness.

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • A minimum 1 year of experience desired
  • Operations experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail and customer service oriented
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google G Suite
  • Candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Must be organized
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment and autonomously
