The Operations Support Manager supports both production operations and materials management within a high-volume metal stamping environment. This role helps coordinate daily production priorities, production scheduling, material flow, inventory control, logistics, and customer delivery requirements. The position works closely with production supervisors and cross-functional leaders to support safe, efficient operations, maximize equipment utilization, minimize downtime, and ensure materials and production resources are aligned to meet business needs.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production schedules for stamping, welding, and secondary operations to meet customer delivery requirements.

• Coordinate the flow of steel coils, tooling, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods throughout the manufacturing process.

• Monitor inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity using the ERP/MRP system.

• Work closely with Production, Tool Room, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality to resolve scheduling conflicts and support efficient operations.

• Coordinate in-bound raw material deliveries and outbound customer shipments while maintaining on-time delivery performance.

• Supervise and support Shipping & Receiving, Material Handling, Inventory Control, Production Scheduling, and assigned production personnel as needed.

• Assist in identifying and resolving production constraints related to labor, equipment, tooling, materials, quality issues, and customer demand changes.

• Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and process improvements.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, material flow, inventory reduction, and operational efficiency.

• Analyze production and inventory data to identify trends, resolve issues, and support business decisions.

• Maintain compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and company safety policies.

• Collaborate with Purchasing and Customer Service to address material shortages, expedite orders, and respond to changing customer demands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operations, production leadership, materials, production planning, or supply chain experience in a metal stamping or automotive manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of metal stamping operations, automatic presses, progressive dies, steel coil handling, and manufacturing workflows.

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (PowerShop, SAP, QAD, or similar), EDI, and automotive customer requirements.

• Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive packaging/shipping standards.

• Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to support production supervisors, manage daily priorities, communicate across departments, and drive accountability in a manufacturing environment.
