Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring the ability to scrub and circulate on robotics, ortho, neuro, and general surgical cases with an active NJ or compact RN license.
Job Details
• Operating Room setting within a hospital,
• 12-hour AM shifts scheduled 7a-8p, 3 days per week,
• Must be able to scrub and circulate on robotics, ortho, neuro, and general surgical cases,
• Must be willing to scrub one of the following specialties: neuro spine, total joint, or robotic,
• On-call responsibilities required,
• Floating required, including to a sister hospital nearby,
• Uses Epic for charting,
Job Requirements
• Active NJ or compact RN license required,
• BLS certification required,
• CNOR certification preferred,
• Minimum 1 year of OR experience required,
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing,
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred,
• Experience with pre-operative and post-operative assessments,
• Experience with pre-admission testing evaluation,
Additional Information
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments and education,
• Support completion of Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders and evaluate for appropriateness based on procedure, age, and health status,
• Deliver individualized perioperative care according to procedure type and anesthesia across the care continuum,
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical conditions, procedures, and equipment for the surgical patient population,
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of the nursing process and patient outcomes,
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and two-patient identifier verification,
• Local candidates accepted,
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break prior to returning
