Job Description

Install and support LANs, WANs, VPNs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.

Install and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls) and software.

Addressing network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.

Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment.

Defining network policies and procedures.

Analyze and isolate issues.

Determine network and system requirements.

Design and deploy networks.

Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.

Perform network address assignment.

Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.

Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.

Security

Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation mechanisms.

Establishing policies and procedures that are in line with industry standards (e.g. SSAE 16, PCI, SOX) to ensure the security of highly sensitive customer data.

Maintain virus protection solutions.

Internal and Product Infrastructure

Manage our externally hosted product infrastructure including server deployment, maintenance, upgrades, performance monitoring, tuning, and vendor management.

Administers Exchange and SharePoint solutions.

Help Desk Administration 

Supporting internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner on issues related to desktop hardware, software, phones, tablets, operational systems, etc...

Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.

Asset Management

Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.

Manages the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT.

Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly.

Maintains an inventory of all software licenses and performs periodic audits to ensure compliance with all license agreements.

Telephony

 Oversees the management of the company's VOIP phone systems.

Establishes standards for cell phone hardware.

Manages relationship with cellular providers and negotiates corporate contracts.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems.

Expert in the administration of Windows Active Directory.

Expert in the administration of Exchange and SharePoint.

Expert in TCP/IP, Firewalls, Routing, DNS, DHCP, and networking technologies.

Expert in security best practices.

Experience with Linux based systems.

Experience in PowerShell scripting.

Experience with performance monitoring solutions.

Education & Experience required:

BS / MS in      Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.

6+ years      administering mission critical corporate networks.

MCSE      certification.

Strong      knowledge of CS fundamentals.

Additional Information

Physical ability to walk, climb, crawl around property and lift computer equipment (50+ lbs) as necessary to perform duties.

Strong analytical capability and organizational skills.

Independent work ethic to carry projects through to completion and implement solutions without constant supervision; ability and desire to explore and learn new technologies.

Expert problem-solver able to accurately diagnose and repair systems.
