Our client seeks an Operating Systems Engineer to design, develop, and maintain platform adapters that extend the Darkstrike execution control platform to Microsoft Windows and macOS. The role collaborates with software engineering, cloud architecture, security, and platform engineering to integrate execution control with operating system services and enterprise productivity applications while upholding security, performance, and reliability. The position requires expertise in low-level operating system software, Windows and macOS application integration, systems programming, and enterprise endpoint technologies.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $70.00 to $80.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop platform adapters that integrate the Darkstrike execution control platform with Microsoft Windows and macOS.
  • Develop secure interfaces between the Darkstrike platform and operating system services.
  • Extend execution control capabilities across supported operating system environments.
  • Build highly performant, reliable, and maintainable operating system integration components.
  • Evaluate operating system APIs and integration mechanisms to support secure execution control.
  • Develop software utilizing native Windows APIs and frameworks.
  • Develop software utilizing native macOS APIs and frameworks.
  • Integrate with operating system authentication, authorization, process management, file system, and security services.
  • Support compatibility across current enterprise Windows and macOS releases.
  • Troubleshoot operating system interoperability and performance issues.
  • Develop integrations supporting Microsoft Office desktop applications and Microsoft 365.
  • Design secure interfaces with Office productivity applications where appropriate.
  • Support execution control for enterprise productivity workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to extend platform capabilities into Microsoft application environments.
  • Collaborate with backend engineering to integrate platform adapters with execution control services.
  • Develop secure interprocess communication and API integrations.
  • Optimize platform performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience with systems programming using C++, Go, and Python.
  • Experience integrating enterprise software with desktop operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of process management, memory management, threading, file systems, and operating system security.
  • Experience developing secure, high-performance software.
