Job description:
Key Responsibilities:
• Migration:
- Develop and execute the migration strategy from VMware to Proxmox.
- Assess current VMware infrastructure and plan for minimal disruption.
• System Management:
- Install and configure Proxmox VE.
-Maintain and optimize Proxmox and Linux servers.
- Integrate Proxmox with existing VMware systems during migration.
- Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Documentation & Reporting:
- Document migration processes, configurations, and procedures.
Technical:
- Expertise in Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and virtualization technologies.
- Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Proficient in managing Proxmox VE, including installation, configuration, and ongoing management.
- Strong understanding of monitoring tools and systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
- Experience with integrating Proxmox and VMware environments and handling VM data migration.
- Experience:
- Proven success in migrating from VMware to Proxmox.
- Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills (Bash, Python).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications (RHCE, VCP, Proxmox).
- Experience with additional cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
