Classification: Nonexempt
Department: Housekeeping
Reports to: Housekeeping Manager
Job Description


Summary/Objective

The Room Attendant is responsible for genuinely caring about out guest; making strong emotional connections by providing a guest oriented service at all times. The Room Attendant is also responsible on providing efficient, prompt, courteous, trouble free and proactive service to guests.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Completes all checklists as assigned.
  • Collects daily worksheet each morning with applicable keys, and returns them by the end of the shift.
  • Maximizes job efficiency and neat, orderly appearance by maintaining supply cart and vacuum cleaner.
  • Stocks supply on cart/bag correctly in the morning and afternoon, with all necessary linens, guest supplies, and cleaning equipment.
  • Sorts out any damaged linen or linen needing re-washing and returns them to Laundry.
  • Cleans guest rooms daily according to operational policies and standards.
  • Removes soiled bed and bath linens, and replaces with clean linens.
  • Removes trash from rooms.
  • Clean bathroom area.
  • Dust all surfaces.
  • Replenishes promotional materials, literature, and stationary.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times that falls within the hotel and company guidelines for appearance and dress.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by co-operating and assisting employees as needed.
  • Promote hotel services, facilities, and outlets, provide guest with information such as local attractions and directions.
  • Perform any other duties assign by his/her manager.

Work environment

Required Education and Experience

  • A minimum of (1) year of housekeeping experience.
  • A minimum of (1) years of hospitality experience preferred.
  • High School education preferred.
  • Able to speak and understand basic English.
  • Must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment to resolve issues.
