Job description


This paid full time internship is open to current Registered Nurses or recent graduates who have an interest in perioperative nursing. The program offers a unique opportunity for new nurses and experience nurses who want to work in the Operating Room. Learn how to be an O.R. Circulator and develop O.R. skills while on the job through an internship program. This program offers the AORN Periop 101 course with contact hours and CNOR certification reimbursement.
The O.R. interns will be trained via an on-line didactic course and through hands-on skills that are essential to perioperative nursing. The course allows the nurse intern to learn in the clinical setting with coaching from the Education team and qualified staff. Upon completion, the nurse will then move to an available perioperative nurse position in one of the OR specialties offered at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
Delivers high quality patient-focused health care services that meet the assessed and individually planned needs and desires of all patients on the assigned nursing unit.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited RN program
Required Certification/Registration
Current unrestricted Louisiana RN license and BLS certification
