Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Circulator is responsible for coordinating and managing patient care in the operating room, ensuring a safe, efficient, and sterile surgical environment. This role serves as the patient's advocate throughout the perioperative process, monitoring safety, documentation, and communication between surgical team members to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily function and organization of the operating room in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care before, during, and after ophthalmic procedures.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications safely, and respond to any intraoperative or postoperative complications.
  • Oversee patient positioning, site preparation, and adherence to procedural safety protocols.
  • Ensure that patients' rights, dignity, privacy, and comfort are always maintained.
  • Perform accounting procedures to prevent retained surgical items and ensure all instruments and supplies are accounted for.
  • Confirm correct surgical site, side, and level in collaboration with the surgical team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Maintain current RN certification REQUIRED
