Conveniently located in Waimea (near Eleele and Lihue) on the west side of the beautiful Garden Island, Kauai Care Center, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, embodies the Aloha Spirit. Our staff, residents and their loved ones are ohana (family).

Our full range of Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Therapy treatments are designed to support recovery from illness, surgery, or a serious injury. We collaborate with residents, their families, and medical providers to bring harmony and balance to residents' lives, developing personalized plans that promote faster recovery so our residents can return home sooner.

Lead Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The Lead CNA is responsible for performing, coordinating and scheduling services and activities in the resident care department, and to provide assistance to the Director of Nursing Services and/or Designee, as needed, in Maintaining a positive physical and social environment for the residents with compassion and desire to work with the elderly. This position will also be responsible for providing services and care to residents in the same manner as CNA's when needed, thus the lead responsibilities become secondary in nature.

Lead CNA:

  • Perform essential position duties as a CNA when assigned and provided care to the residents.
  • Acts as a liaison between nursing staff and Nursing Managers and promotes teamwork in the provision of services for residents.
  • Ensure nursing staff are performing at accepted levels to maintain essential job duties and meet standards of performance to meet our resident care needs and provide service excellence to remain in regulatory compliance.

Staffing:

  • Assists DON/Designee with collaboration and coordination of any staffing changes/needs or resident status changes and communicates accordingly with the DON/Designee.
  • Assists with communication to staff of assignments and scheduling.
  • Assists if needed with securing staff to help maintain appropriate levels of staffing on shifts when sick calls come in per facility call out process.
  • Notifies DON of short staffing situations; contacts replacement personnel and modifies schedule when required.
  • facilities the timely completion of paperwork and data entry pertinent and necessary to fulfill job duties as needed.


Qualification:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold current CNA Certification in State employed in good standings and able to perform duties and responsibilities as a CNA when assigned and providing care to the residents.
  • A minimum of 3 months prior CNA experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
  • Current First Aide and CPR.
