  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Education
      • Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, communication, and basic mathematics as acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
    • Experience
      • Knowledge of patient care technician practices as related patient care activities and hospital policies and procedures as acquired though on-the-job training. Knowledge of basic non-technical skills as acquired through on-the-job training.
    • Physical
      • This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information.
      • Normal hospital environment. Mobility, sight, hearing, verbal communication, changes in temperature. Exposure to unpleasant elements (dust, fumes, odors, water, etc.) exposure to biological, mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting up to 100lbs., carrying up to 40lbs., pushing/pulling up to 350lbs.
  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The O.R. Patient Care Technician performs various duties and assists in the care of patients as assigned by the Nursing director, Patient Care Manager, Assistant Patient Care Manager, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse and OR Technician. The ORPCT promotes public relation for the unit, nursing division, and the medical center. Must communicate effectively within the organization. Responsible for all behavior of ORPCT job description and duties as assigned. Projects a positive attitude to patients, staff, visitors, and students. Incumbents are subject to overtime and call-back as required by hospital.
