Salary Range: $22 to 44 per hour

Shift: Day Shift (10 Hour Days)

Job Description

Elitecare Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room (OR) in Anacortes, Washington. This role is essential for providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the OR.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during surgery.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field.
  • Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
  • Manage patient flow and coordinate with surgical staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Float to PACU for tasking as needed (not required but preferable).
Unit Details
  • Operating Rooms: 4 OR suites (typically run 3) and 1 endoscopy suite.
  • Average Cases per Day: 20-21 cases.
  • Common Cases:
  • Orthopedic procedures (hips, knees, shoulders, ortho spine)
  • TLIF, hernias, lap chole
  • Obstetric (OB), Gynecological (GYN), hysteroscopy, hysterectomy
  • Urology (cysto, prostate)
  • ENT (twice a month), pediatric cases (tubes, tonsils, adenoids)
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of inter-operative experience preferred; any surgical experience will be considered.
  • Required Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Endoscopy and orthopedic experience required; solid OR experience necessary.
  • Must be able to respond to on-call requirements within 30 minutes.
Additional Information
  • Shifts: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; 4-10 hour shifts.
  • Call Requirements:
  • Weeknight: 5:30 PM - 7:00 AM; 4 days a month
  • Weekend: 24-hour call; one weekend day a month (Saturday or Sunday)
  • Holiday Requirements: Department is closed on major holidays; on-call as needed.
  • Floating Requirements: Ability to float to PACU preferred but not required.
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided by the facility.
