Wage Range: $41.12 - $53.71 per hour plus lead premium
Job Summary:
Install, repair and maintain building systems and equipment within the facility, plumbing, electrical and refrigeration, as requested in conformance with all state and local specifications and codes. Operates, maintains, and repairs the facility, its equipment, and systems in a safe, efficient operating condition in conformance with manufacturer's specifications, hospital policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all codes and regulations.
Responsibility for guiding and checking the work of the department engineers and establishing and modifying work assignments of employees to meet the department schedules. A lead primarily performs the same work as others in the classification; in addition is directly accountable for monitoring and reviewing work assignments of other employees, checking work for accuracy, assisting in making daily work assignments, assisting with developing work schedules, or giving advice and work instructions to other employees. Fulfills all the job functions and responsibilities of the Engineer and Maintenance workers in the Facilities Department.
Primary Duties:
1. Operates, maintains, tests, repairs, installs, and cleans the building equipment and system. This requires the ability to troubleshoot problems, access the equipment or system that needs repair, i.e., enter crawl spaces, ceiling spaces, tight spaces, use ladders, lift/haul tools & supplies.
2. Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
o Grade 4 steam license or 3 years boiler plant experience
o Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency to complete jobs within state and local guidelines.
o Current Washington State Driver's license and proof of insurability
DESIRED for the position:
o Healthcare electrical, plumbing (medical gases), 2 years of refrigeration experience, pertinent to the specific job.
