Position Summary:
We are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer with a passion for developing, automating, and securing creative solutions in an enterprise, on-premises environment. You will be responsible for system analysis, as well as designing, developing, building, testing, implementing, and maintaining various systems to meet functional objectives of the business. In this role, you will ensure the implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage. You will implement provisioning and deployment techniques via packaging and containerization, manage enterprise container orchestration, and implement automated testing and security scanning for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Primary Responsibilities: • Pipeline & Process Automation: Contribute to the planning and evolution of processes and infrastructure to execute programs supporting capability maturation, deployment, and on-premises infrastructure modernization. • CI/CD Integration: Develop test-driven development tools to replace manual legacy processes wherever possible. • Container Orchestration Management: Help define, implement, and maintain enterprise container orchestration standards using platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher. • Build Ecosystem Knowledge: Solid understanding of how CMake and Conan are utilized in development and how they impact pipeline and build automation development. • Security Integration (DevSecOps): Integrate automated code quality and security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Anchore) directly into CI/CD pipelines to ensure compliant and secure delivery. • Environment Provisioning: Lead the building and configuration of delivery environments supporting CI/CD tools. Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts and/or templates to automate provisioning and management tasks. • System Efficiency: Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks. • System Design: Design information and operational support systems tailored for highly secure, air-gapped, or on-premises deployments. Basic Qualifications: • Sr. Principal DevSecOps Engineer (Level 4): Bachelor’s and 8, or a Master’s and 6 years. • Technical Expertise: Comprehensive technical experience with a variety of DevSecOps tools including Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible, and Git/Version Control Software. • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express technical information clearly across different organizational levels. • Develop and maintain automation solutions using Bash and Python scripting to streamline CI/CD processes, improve operational efficiency, and reduce manual intervention. • Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments in support of highly available and secure development platforms. • Collaborate effectively within a small, highly technical DevSecOps team, taking ownership of engineering initiatives and contributing across pipeline automation, platform management, and release processes. • Agile Frameworks: Solid experience working within Agile processes and procedures. • Proficiency with BitBucket, Atlassian tools. • Proficiency with Git branching strategies. Preferred Qualifications: • Pipeline Infrastructure: Hands-on experience proactively creating automation using Jenkins Shared Libraries to enable quicker builds for app and development teams. • Build Ecosystem Knowledge: Solid understanding of how CMake and Conan are utilized in development and how they impact pipeline and build automation development. • Advanced Orchestration: Experience identifying automation needs and deploying CI/CD solutions utilizing Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher container orchestration platforms. • On-Premises Infrastructure & Security: Experience creating and implementing automated infrastructure solutions to address strict air-gapped or on-premises infrastructure and security requirements. • Security Tooling: Experience implementing and managing code coverage and vulnerability scanning tools like SonarQube, Fortify, or Anchore.
Leadership Experience: Successful experience leading a team of DevOps Engineers and/or System Administrators. Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000
