About the Role
As Staff Software Engineer, Open Source, you'll be the face of You.com to our developer community, and own developer audience growth, social influence, and technical content. Your goal will be to amplify You.com's presence in the AI community by creating high-impact code, content, and forging relationships with the developer community.
Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality code, content, use cases, and documentation on You.com portfolio of search apis, and emerging AI trends and broadcast it to community via social
  • Increase audience awareness of You.com by contributing to popular repos and evangelising You.com to influential developers / frameworks
  • Host & participate in livestreams, workshops, conferences, and AMAs
  • Actively follow and participate in the conversation on emerging AI topics on social and drive visibility to You.com by engaging with developer community
  • Build demo repos and example workflows to inspire the developer community
  • Collaborate with other creators to expand reach and engagement
Qualifications
  • Strong presence on GitHub, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, or other platforms
  • Proven track record on engaging with developer community
  • Experience speaking at conferences or leading workshops
  • Passion for shaping developer adoption and engagement
  • Hands on developer experience
  • Experience growing newsletters, social channels, or communities
  • Data-driven approach to content strategy and distribution
  • 50K+ followers across developer or AI-focused platforms is a plus
  • Experience running influencer programs or creator partnerships is a plus

Our salary bands are structured based on a combination of geographic tiers and internal leveling. Compensation is determined by multiple factors assessed during the interview process, with the final offer reflecting these considerations.
Salary Band
$200,000-$250,000 USD
