Position: Worship Director

Classification: Full Time / Campus Specific

Reports to: Campus Pastor


Qualifications:

  • An evident heart and love for God and His church
  • Membership at Church of the Open Door (or willing to become a member)
  • Training and ability in leading, organizing, and executing God honoring worship experiences with appropriate vocal and instrumental skills
  • Must love people and attract them to the ministry
  • A team player who works well with those in ministry to accomplish goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with ministry volunteers to keep everyone on the same page.
  • Keen attention to detail
  • A heart to devote time in the Word for personal, spiritual development.


Anticipated Work Time: 40 Hours/Week


Job Summary:

The role of the Campus Worship Director is to provide direction to the worship activities of the assigned campus. In cooperation with other worship staff, this position implements the worship goals and standards established by the pastoral staff. This position will recruit, train, and develop musicians at the campus level and provide leadership and discipleship for worship teams and activities. The Worship Director will be a resource to all campus ministries in regard to music and worship in order to maintain excellence and help people discover life change through Jesus. This position maintains the campus worship budget and oversees the scheduling and equipping of campus worship teams. The Campus Worship Director will work with the Campus Pastor to influence campus worship towards excellence and engagement. This position will collaborate with the other worship staff to create a unified experience at COD.


Description of Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the worship staff to bring an excellent, energetic, and unified worship experience to the people.
  2. Collaborate on worship technology implementation and service design.
  3. Recruit volunteers and provide training for them to carry out the necessary aspects of worship ministry for the assigned campus.
  4. Develop musicians and leaders in the area of worship for the campus.
  5. Lead worship at the assigned campus and provide input into music and worship activities of the assigned campus.
  6. Oversee the scheduling and administrative details of the worship services and events of the assigned campus.
  7. Assist with the planning and executing of special events and outreaches into the community in the area of worship arts as assigned.
  8. Attend staff meetings.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
