The Role - Staff Software Engineer

We are looking for a staff software engineer to work on the systems and applications that power our Advertising and Fan Engagement products. Our Advertising and Fan Engagement products harness the power of GeniusIQ to create important game insights in real time, connect fans to brands and advertisers and produce differentiated next generation content. This role favours Engineers who can bring a diverse experience and perspective to modern technology challenges, and Engineers who favour collaborative environments.ย 


What You'll Doย 

  • Design and develop systems and applications that power our automated, real-timeย Advertising and Fan Engagement products.ย 
  • Own and implement features end-to-end across the stack, taking responsibility for the system lifecycle fromย development,ย deploymentย and supportย of critical products to customers.ย 
  • Lead technical discussions, drive architectural decisions, andย identifyย opportunities to improve scalability, automation, and operational efficiency as we expand across new leagues and sports globally.ย 
  • Provide guidance and direction to product to help translate ideas into practical technical solutions.ย 
  • Design andย maintainย the foundational platform that powers our systems and supports development & iteration by engineering teams building on this platform.ย 
  • Design and improve testing and release strategies for complexย systemsย -ย including backend services, web applications, data pipelines, messaging and streaming services, real-time model inference systems, and on-site hardware components.ย 
  • Monitor,ย analyze, and continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.ย 
  • Provide mentorship and leadership in our localย (in-office)ย and broader engineering community.ย ย 
  • Design and build mechanisms for enabling human or agent-in-the-loop workflows thatย validate, correct, and enhance outputs from the system.ย

  • Experience using messaging systems (partitioning strategies, broker scaling, consumer design)ย 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Scienceย or equivalent experience.ย

The salary for this role is based on an annualized range of $240,000 - $255,000 USD. This role will also be eligible to take part in Genius Sports Group's benefits plan.ย
