Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector
Job Type: Full-time

Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all quality programs, policies, initiatives and products meet the customer's quality standards. They work in conjunction with others in the Quality Department to reduce the number of defects and improve all levels of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed quality inspections of products and their components at different stages of production. (Machining, Forming, Welding, Assembly)
  • Performs and documents visual and dimensional inspection on products to determine conformance with customer requirements, technical specifications, manufacturing drawings, and applicable standards
  • Read and interpret blueprint drawings including Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Measure parts with the CMM, Romer, Optical Comparator
  • Report non-conforming parts to the QA Manager and/or the Supervisors
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Etc.)
  • Work with the scheduling & planning departments to assist in expediting of parts
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • First article and PPAP documentation
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel) to edit/create reports.

Required Qualifications:
  • (Required) 2+ years previous experience in a Quality Assurance position
  • (Required) High School diploma or GED
  • (Preferred) 5+ year's previous experience as a Welder/Fabricator
  • (Preferred) Welding certification(s)

Skills & Competencies:
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and basic shop drawings.
  • Basic understanding of measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges).

Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
  • Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection required.
  • May involve repetitive tasks and physical activity throughout the shift.

Physical Requirements:
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 50lbs., and perform repetitive motions.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and manual handling of sheet metal materials.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
