Position: Full-Time Certified Veterinary Technician
About Us:
Bartram Trail Veterinary Hospital is a progressive general practice that utilizes advanced equipment, such as multi-parameter anesthetic monitors, IV pumps, digital x-rays, laser therapy, ultrasound, and more. We are committed to providing high-quality care in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be certified in Florida, in the process of transferring their certification to Florida, or enrolled in an accredited veterinary technician program. CVT/LVT credentials are preferred, but equivalent practical experience will also be considered. Compensation will reflect the level of experience.


Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Build positive, professional relationships with clients and team members.
  • Maintain timely and consistent reporting for all shifts.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, husbandry, pharmacology, and accurate drug/fluid dosage administration.
  • Safely and effectively restrain animals and complete clinical laboratory tests.
  • Educate clients on preventative care, vaccines, medications, diagnostics, and procedures.
  • Educate clients on small animal nutrition, kcal energy calculations, and body condition.
  • Be well-versed in various positioning techniques and obtain clear diagnostic radiography.
  • Administer cold laser therapy treatments.
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia under supervision.
  • Assist in surgery preparation, scrub in, and provide support during procedures.
  • Assist in dental COHATS, including documenting full oral assessments, obtaining full mouth dental radiographs, and cleanings, including ultrasonic scaling, manual cleaning, and polishing.
  • Offer clear and empathetic communication regarding treatment plan options and surgical procedures.
  • Deliver consistent, compassionate nursing care to patients.


Work Environment:

  • You will spend the majority of your workday in the exam rooms, laboratory, pharmacy, treatment areas, and surgery suite, providing direct care to patients and supporting our veterinary team.


Shift Hours & Schedule:

  • 4 Weekdays: Shift hours require arrival by 7:45 AM and estimated departure at 5:15 PM (including a 1-hour break).
  • Rotating Saturdays: 7:45 AM - 1:15 PM.
