This is a unique opportunity to grow BBYO's reach in the Greater Atlanta Region, engaging new teens, families, and alumni, developing and deepening partnerships throughout the region, and enhancing the chapter and region portfolio of high impact, can't miss programming. As Director of Strategic Growth, you will play a pivotal role working with the regional team and local teen leaders to strengthen programming, engagement and overall impact for thousands of Jewish teens throughout Atlanta.
As Director of Strategic Growth, you will:
  • Identify and cultivate new teen pipelines, feeding prospective members into existing chapters or launching new ones as needed
  • Create additional entry-point programming to create meaningful first impressions for Jewish teens
  • Curate unique, access-driven programming, such as influencer engagements and behind-the-scenes experiences, that distinguishes BBYO and drives early-year momentum and recruitment
  • Collaborate with the JCC's professional BBYO team to ensure complementary programming to enrich and enhance regional convention and event programming
  • Work directly with teens to plan exclusive, high-impact "wow" experiences that grow membership and keep teens engaged over the four years of high school
  • Coach and mentor teens to implement annual calendar of high quality and fun programs, including regular leadership training for teens at all levels, in conjunction with Regional Director
  • Seek out and cultivate relationships with synagogues and other Jewish and non-Jewish institutions across Greater Atlanta to expand BBYO's reach and elevate BBYO's brand in partnership with MJCCA Senior Program Director, Center for Experiential Jewish Education
  • Design and lead alumni engagement initiatives quarterly that foster meaningful community connection for BBYO graduates and their families in partnership with MJCCA Senior Advisor, Philanthropic Initiatives
  • Create intentional opportunities for alumni to engage directly with teen programming by serving as advisors, mentors or content experts
  • Staff BBYO summer programs which may include working two to three weeks in a remote location.
  • Support BBYO's International Convention or other Movement-wide Initiatives as assigned.

This is a unique position that is employed by BBYO and embedded with our program partner at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, with expectation to work from the MJCCA.
The Ideal Candidate:
Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation to drive positive change. This person should have an understanding of and experience in Jewish programming and community building, be interested in being a part of a globally diverse organization, willing to travel, and interested in growing and developing their skills.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of work experience.
  • Experience with youth or teens preferred. Experience with event planning, innovation, and partnerships preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
  • Must reside in the Atlanta, Georgia area and be willing and able to travel regularly within the region
  • Ability to travel to organization-wide events such as International Convention, Staff Conference, and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in the U.S. for 2-3 weeks each summer.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (some nights and weekends) when teens are available
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
