Job description

A Survey Party Chief 2 leads the survey crew to accomplish the successful completion of each survey job through proper direction and time management. Must be a self-motivated individual that works well in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibits proficient leadership through mentoring and solid decision making.
  • Proficient understanding of Boundary resolution and associated research.
  • Proficient understanding of Topographic Mapping.
  • Proficient Route Surveying knowledge.
  • Proficient in construction layout and/or right of way & easement layout.
  • Proficient construction plan and/or right of way & easement plan reading and interpretation.
  • Proficient in all related surveying instruments, data collectors and other peripheral surveying tools.
  • Proficient client skills understanding that everyone we meet may be a potential client.
  • Proficient communications and relationship building skills.
  • When required, work overtime, third shifts and out of town projecting a high level of flexibility.
  • Present yourselves as professionals at all times.
  • Complete understanding and regular/daily assistance with implementation of Southeast Engineering, Inc. surveying policies and procedures.
  • Complete understanding and regular/daily assistance with implementation of Southeast Engineering, Inc. safety policies and procedures.
  • Error free data, eliminating the need to “Go back”.
  • Proficient field sketches and notes.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently train and mentor subordinate crew members in correct Southeast Engineering, Inc. policy and procedures.
  • Ensure/Report unsafe work conditions.
  • Correct/report problems and/or violations of Southeast Engineering, Inc. policy and procedures.
  • Ensure time each day has been accurately recorded for all crew members.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License with a good driving record and ability to pass a Security Background check.
  • Excellent knowledge of various survey procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to eliminate "roadblocks".
  • Must be able to stand (for long periods of time), walk (up to miles at a time), work in all elements (wind, rain, cold, heat, etc.), hammer, dig, lift and carry surveying equipment (up to 50 pounds for short periods of time) or tools.
  • Candidate will be required to work along heavily traveled roads and for safety, sometimes at night.
