Our client is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join its technology team supporting custom-developed business applications across web, mobile, desktop, and cloud environments. This role is responsible for the design, development, support, and maintenance of enterprise software solutions while providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to other developers.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions, guiding development teams, and driving architectural decisions. This individual must be able to work across multiple facets of the software development lifecycle while balancing technical execution, team leadership, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, maintain, and support applications for desktop, web, mobile, and cloud environments.
  • Convert and maintain existing applications from VB.NET to C#.
  • Partner with management and peers in the development and implementation of software engineering best practices.
  • Provide technical direction, make architectural decisions, and ensure adherence to development standards.
  • Mentor and guide software engineers through coaching, code reviews, and constructive feedback.
  • Gather business requirements and develop conceptual and technical designs for multiple projects concurrently.
  • Manage the software development lifecycle, including project planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Utilize Git and Azure DevOps for source control, deployment, and release management.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, upgrade, and improve existing software solutions.
  • Document projects, processes, and technical solutions to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop flowcharts, diagrams, layouts, technical documentation, and code comments to support long-term sustainability.
  • Implement robust security measures within software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products and enhancements.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, development methodologies, security best practices, and software design patterns.
  • Provide after-hours support when required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful services, object-oriented design principles, and SQL databases.
  • Expertise with Git and Azure DevOps for code management and deployment.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile application development for both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Solid experience with SQL Server programming, SSRS, and SSIS.
  • Proven experience providing technical leadership, mentoring developers, and driving architectural decisions.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience troubleshooting, debugging, upgrading, and optimizing enterprise applications.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, tracking, and identifying potential roadblocks.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
