Job description

Job Description:

We are seeking an energetic and passionate Online Reading Specialist to join our team and help children succeed in reading! Using a structured Science of Reading-based curriculum that is fun and easy to teach, you will provide engaging, effective, and individualized lessons to students through 25-minute Zoom sessions. Your role will be to build confidence in young readers, foster a love for reading, and ensure measurable progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach students (K-8) using a fun, effective, and easy-to-teach online curriculum
  • Create a fun, engaging, and encouraging learning environment
  • Maintain regular communication with parents to update them on student performance
  • Foster strong relationships with students to ensure their confidence and enthusiasm for reading
  • Provide assessments and track student progress regularly

Requirements:

  • Degree in elementary education and/or reading intervention
  • Familiarity with Science of Reading principles
  • Ability to connect with and engage children in a virtual setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be energetic, positive, and patient

Schedule:

  • Initially, you must be available Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 11 AM Central Time and 4 PM to 8 PM Central Time to make it easy to fill your schedule. Once you have 20 hours worth of students, you will have more flexibility (according to your students' availability).
  • It will take several weeks to fill your schedule, so your hours will take time to build up.
  • You will hired as a 1099 independent contractor.
