Job description

If you are interested in becoming a Substitute Custodian, please complete an application online.ย  This posting is for the 2026ย - 2027ย School Year.ย 
Once you have successfully completed your online application, please visit any school in Nassau County School District and request a Recommendation Form be completed by the principal.ย  The principal will review your online application and submit the necessary paperwork to the Human Resources Department.ย  Upon receipt, the Human Resouces Department will contact you with the next steps to becoming a Substitute Custodian.ย ย

Online AHERA Training Course
Once the initial clearances are obtained, you will be required to complete a portion of the online paperwork, the required online AHERA training for custodians, attend an inperson session to turn in required documents and an informational on Absence Management.ย  Dates of the sessions will be provided at the time of completing the online paperwork.ย ย
