Online Enrollment Advisor

BASIC FUNCTION
The Online Enrollment Advisor serves as the primary recruitment, admissions, and enrollment professional for Vermont State University's online programs. The position leverages virtual engagement, CRM technologies, and data-informed strategies to recruit, advise, and enroll prospective students, with a focus on adult learners, transfer students, and other non-traditional populations while supporting enrollment growth and student success.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a primary recruitment and enrollment counselor for prospective students interested in fully online programs, providing consistent, high quality virtual engagement throughout the enrollment funnel from inquiry to enrollment.
The role requires the ability to identify prospective students' educational and career goals and effectively connect Vermont State University's online programs, support services, and educational pathways as solutions aligned to those goals.
Maintain proactive outbound outreach, high responsiveness standards, and from timely follow-up with prospective students using phone, email, video conferencing, CRM campaigns, and other digital communication platforms to support inquiry conversion and enrollment growth.
Deliver individualized admissions and enrollment advising for online applicants, including application guidance, admissions requirements, transcript review, preliminary transfer credit evaluation, basic financial aid navigation, and enrollment planning.
Manage and cultivate an assigned population of online program prospective students and applicants with clear accountability for recruitment activity, applicant progression, enrollment conversion, and student matriculation outcomes.
Utilize CRM driven communication plans and outreach strategies to cultivate prospective student engagement, execute personalized outreach campaigns, and optimize enrollment funnel performance.
Input, maintain, and monitor prospective student records in the CRM, ensuring accurate documentation of student interactions, outreach efforts, and next steps.
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with community colleges, employers, workforce development organizations, and community-based partners to expand online recruitment pipelines and partnership opportunities.
Represent Vermont State University at virtual and possible in-person recruitment events, employer visits, community outreach activities, transfer recruitment initiatives, and partnership meetings.
Plan, coordinate, and support virtual recruitment and outreach activities, such as online open houses, informational webinars, virtual information sessions, employer or partner presentations, and counselor briefings.
Collaborate with academic programs, admissions operations, student services, marketing, and enrollment leadership to advance online program growth objectives and ensure a seamless inquiry to enrolled student experience.
Apply data informed practices and enrollment analytics to monitor recruitment activity, outreach effectiveness, applicant progression, and enrollment conversion for online programs.
Achieve and maintain established activity standards and responsiveness expectations in support of enrollment and student engagement goals.
Responsible for achieving established enrollment, outreach, responsiveness, and conversion performance goals.
Maintain current knowledge of Vermont State University online programs, admissions policies, workforce trends, transfer pathways, and related enrollment procedures.
Support continuous improvement of online enrollment practices, communication strategies, recruitment processes, and student experience.
Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General supervision is received from the Associate Director of Admissions/Team Lead.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, plus one to three years of related recruitment, customer service, sales, or student services experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Willing to work a flexible/non-traditional schedule.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge:
Knowledge of admissions, recruitment, student engagement, and enrollment operations;
previous VSC experience desirable.
Understanding of online education models, adult learner recruitment strategies, and nontraditional student enrolment behaviors.
Understanding of workforce partnerships, transfer recruitment strategies, and employer/community engagement practices preferred.
Ability to translate student interests, motivations, and career goals into aligned educational pathways and enrollment solutions.
Skills:
Excellent virtual communication, relationship-building, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Strong consultative recruitment, follow-up, and enrollment conversion skills.
Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills in a remote and fast-paced enrollment environment.
Proficiency with CRM systems, enrollment technologies, and digital recruitment tools (experience with Slate preferred).
Ability to effectively prioritize competing recruitment priorities while maintaining responsiveness and student engagement.
Abilities:
Ability to effectively advise, motivate, and support diverse online learner populations.
Ability to analyze recruitment and enrollment data to inform outreach strategy, engagement efforts, and decision-making.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across distributed teams.

Ability to maintain productivity, accountability, and responsiveness in a remote-first work
environment.
Location: This position can be based on any of the Vermont State Colleges System campuses. If designated as a hybrid position, the incumbent must reside in a U.S. state where the Vermont State Colleges System is authorized to conduct business and must maintain a work schedule that aligns with Eastern Time (ET) business hours.
