Incumbents are responsible for providing courteous customer service associated with point-of-sale systems, class registrations, memberships, passes, basic clerical duties, and other related work as required. REPORTING STRUCTURE: Receives direction from higher level Parks and Recreation supervisory and management staff. Typical Class Essential Duties 1.

Attend the front desk of a Parks and Recreation facility and provide general information in person, online, or by telephone, about assigned recreational facility such as the services provided, processing registrations, issuing memberships, passes, taking associated fees and cashiering, food and retail sales, and similar customer service duties. 2. General oversight of participants to ensure participant safety and compliance with appropriate policies and general information about the facility and/or events.

3. Opens and close facilities as assigned and conduct walkthroughs for participant counts as needed. 4.

Assists with basic receptionist and clerical work including recordkeeping. 5. Prepares and serves food such as popcorn, hotdogs, pretzels, and fountain sodas using standard formulas or following directions as assigned.

6. Stocks supplies such as food or retail sales inventory in a safe and efficient manner. 7.

Maintains clean and orderly cashier station and performs routine cleaning tasks as assigned. 8. Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.

9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Knowledge (position requirements at entry): Knowledge of: Receptionist and customer service principles.

Cashiering and mathematical calculations. Record keeping. Abilities (position requirements at entry): Ability to: Work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.

Follow all City safety rules and procedures and reports all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor. Facilitate visitor and customer traffic to their appropriate destination. Encourage safety protocols to all visitors and customers.

Respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests. Maintain attention to detail in a work situation with frequent interruptions. Handle multiple customers at the same time.

Learn general layout of facility to provide assistance to visitors and customers. Organize and/or prioritize to be efficient and effective with multiple tasks. Operate modern office equipment, software, and operating systems/applications.

Maintain a neat and professional appearance. Communicate effectively. Follow written and verbal instructions and direction.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Skills (position requirements at entry): Skill in: Cashiering and mathematical calculations. Record keeping.

Conflict resolution. Operation of modern office equipment, software, and operating systems/applications. Operating in a courteous, knowledgeable and tactful manner with customers, staff and general public.

Oral communication sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. Training, Experience & Certifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred. First Aid/CPR preferred

Six months experience in a public setting providing customer service preferred. Must be at least 16 years of age, preferably 18 years of age or older. Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

Incumbents in this position work indoors in a front desk/counter environment and are subject to the common noises associated with a front counter/customer service/office work including telephones, copiers, and printers. The position requires frequent sitting, typing, and customer contact, both by telephone and in person.
