Job description

Description
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for Full Professor with tenure with the intent to hold the Sid W. Richardson Foundation Regents Chair in Mathematics #3 endowment. This position is a nine-month appointment with a start date of August 16, 2025. The department is interested in candidates who will contribute to excellence in mentoring through teaching, research, and service. The minimum annual 9-month salary is $200,000 with Health and Retirement Benefits. The salary can be negotiated based on experience.
To ensure full consideration for the academic year of 2025-26, all materials should arrive by November 11, 2024.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and comparable experience with a strong research focus in mathematics and have publications in high-quality outlets, possess a research agenda that is well-defined and focused with a strong external funding history or potential. In addition, the candidates should have positive evidence in leadership in mathematics education. Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: partial differential equations, the calculus of variations.
For applicants who are not a US citizen or permanent resident, appointment to the Richardson Chair #3 is contingent to becoming permanent US citizen or permanent resident.
