The GrainhouseRestaurant FOH: Server and Server Assistant
Job Summary
The Restaurant Server will deliver outstanding customer service by memorizing the restaurant menu and daily specials, making suggestions or recommendations to customers to enhance their overall experience. The Server will be responsible for ensuring customers have an amazing experience by taking food and drink orders, delivering those orders to the back of house staff and delivering hot/cold food promptly after preparation is complete.
Main Job Duties
  • Provide exceptional customer experience through knowledge, service and approach to overall guest experience
  • Provide information to guests including menu descriptions
  • Take guests food and drink orders, offering suggestions and providing explanations of item preparation
  • Ensure that all orders are accurate and delivered to the guest promptly, ensuring a satisfying dining experience
  • Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns and create an outstanding dining experience
  • Confirm orders with chefs and bartenders when clarification is requested or needed to ensure accuracy of order
  • Assist with clearing and setting up tables and re-arranging tables as needed to accommodate larger parties
Skills and Competencies
  1. Previous restaurant experience preferred
  2. Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
  3. Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers
  4. Must possess a service orientation – proactively looking for ways to help others
  5. Will work for extended periods of time without sitting, so must be able to work on your feet
  6. Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays
  7. Ability to use a restaurant POS software system
  8. Have current Food Handlers’ card or SafeServ Certification
  9. Must meet minimum state age requirements
