High School Online Learning Paraprofessional

Location: Custer County School District C-1
Position Type: Paraprofessional
Reports To: Building Administrator / Superintendent
Schedule: Full-Time, 4 Days/Week (Monday-Thursday), 7:30am-4:10pm
Compensation: Based on Support Staff Salary Schedule



Position Summary

Custer County School District C-1 is seeking a dependable, organized, and student-focused High School Online Learning Paraprofessional to support students enrolled in online courses. This position will provide daily supervision, academic support, accountability, and communication to help students successfully navigate online learning.

The ideal candidate will be patient, organized, comfortable with technology, and able to build positive relationships with high school students while helping them develop the independence and responsibility necessary for successful online learning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise high school students during designated online learning periods.
  • Monitor students' participation, attendance, and engagement in their online courses.
  • Regularly check students' progress and completion of assignments.
  • Help students establish routines, manage their time, and stay on track with course requirements.
  • Provide general academic assistance and help students understand assignments and directions.
  • Assist students with navigating online learning platforms and technology.
  • Communicate with online course instructors as needed regarding student progress, assignments, or concerns.
  • Enter and maintain student grades and assignment information in Infinite Campus.
  • Monitor student grades and identify students who may need additional support or intervention.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, missing assignments, grades, and concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation, progress, and communication.
  • Encourage students to take ownership of their learning and develop effective study habits.
  • Provide a structured, positive, and productive learning environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information.
  • Follow all district policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator or superintendent.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in education is preferred.
  • Experience working with high school students preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable working with computers, online learning platforms, and educational technology.
  • Ability to assist students with a variety of academic assignments and learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
