Adjunct Instructor Interior Design

Position Summary:
The NJIT School of Art & Design is recruiting a pool of applicants interested in teaching classes in the Interior Design program on an ongoing basis. Qualified applicants not able to take on a class in a particular semester would continue to be considered in future semesters. Adjunct instructors will be given the learning objectives and requirements for each class assigned.
Essential Functions:
Teaching: Integrate core concepts from past courses into the one being taught. Communicate with students, faculty and administration on student progress throughout the semester.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
Must possess a design-related Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a bachelor's degree with appropriate industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience is particularly welcome. Advanced Degree preferred. Depending on the course, the instructor would need to have relevant experience in creative, analytical, or synthetic design areas. Hands-on knowledge of course topics is desired (e.g., knowledge of 2D and 3D design software, BIM, motion graphics, screen based communication and UI/UX, knowledge of arduino programming and physical computing, web design and use of digital software to produce and evaluate design work, etc.)

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2668 per credit hour (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
