Job Description
The PT Assessment Center Proctor reports directly to the Administrative Dean. The
Assessment Center Proctor provides technical assistance to online instructors and
students as required. The Assessment Center Proctor also maintains and insures the
integrity of the testing facility; works with students, faculty, and staff to provide testing at
convenient times; and supports other areas of Student Services and Instruction.
Job Duties
1. Perform duties and responsibilities with the utmost integrity.
2. Stay current on MSVCC, ATI, PearsonVue, ACCUPLACER, ACT WorkKeys, NOCTI, NCCR policies and procedures becoming certified when applicable. Become trained and familiar with other tests as needed.
3. Ensure testers are adhering to policies and procedures as outlined by respective instructor, college/university, agency, and/or company.
4. Provide technical support to E-Learning students and faculty.
5. Administer and supervise tests to support student services and instructional needs of the college and the community.
6. Utilizing current technology, establish and maintain a testing scheduling that supports the student, instructional and community needs. Maintain a master schedule of all assessment activity.
7. Review the MSVCC proctor database.
8. Coordinate with IT to ensure that all computers are functioning properly and necessary software is installed prior to the scheduled test. Proactively submit help desk tickets and follow-up for service when needed.
9. Test and troubleshoot testing platforms to ensure optimal customer/tester experience.
10. Check photo identification of the student upon arrival and compare this identification with the appropriate roster.
11. Enter passwords for test administration.
12. Monitor assessment environment ensuring a professional and pleasant atmosphere to create an environment for optimal test performance for all examinees.
13. Maintain a secure testing environment at all times.
14. Fax/e-mail information to other consortia colleges.
15. Report to the respective instructor, college/university, agency, and/or company any problems incurred during the testing process.
16. Stay current on information presented on the MGCCC e-Learning & MSVCC websites.
17. Maintain confidentiality and security of all testing materials, test logs, and other test documents.
18. Utilize Microsoft Office Applications.
19. Maintain an effective working relationship with college personnel, students and the community.
20. Process telephone calls and emails in an effective and efficient manner.
21. Upgrade skill level and performance through staff development.
22. Maintain exceptional adherence to work schedules and college policies.
23. Work nights and weekends as required.
24. Perform other duties as assigned by Dean of Student Services and/or Dean of Instruction or his/her designee.
Mandatory Qualifications
M(1) Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
M(2) Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
M(3) Experience managing multiple tasks.
M(4) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
M(5) Technology troubleshooting experience or demonstrated skill.
M(6) Experience with on-line learning and/or teaching management systems.
Desirable Qualifications
D(1) Experience in a community college setting.
D(2) Ability to organize and administer functions, events and programs with a minimum of supervision.
D(3) Experience with SCT Banner.
