Job description

Position Details

The Nursing Department in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for adjunct part-time clinical instructors in our BSN program and MSN program.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Providing clinical instruction in a hospital, healthcare or community healthcare setting.

2. Occasional clinical instruction may be in the UTampa's Nursing Skills & Simulation Laboratory.

3. Following planned curriculum under the direction of the course coordinator.

4. Providing regular opportunities for meeting times for students.

5. Managing online/paperwork and grading system.

6. Timely grading and feedback of student assignments (including care plans).

7. Providing written midterm & final clinical evaluations of all students in a timely manner.

8. Orientation as required by the clinical facility and the department of nursing.

The successful candidate will have:

1. A Master's Degree in Nursing and clinical expertise in fundamentals of nursing, med-surgical, medically complex, community nursing, mental health, obstetrics or pediatrics is preferred for BSN program clinical instructors.Ability to work either am or pm clinical shift. Applicants with a BSN with appropriate experience in the discipline will be considered.

2. APRN with clinical experience in family, adult-gerontology primary care is preferred for MSN-NP clinical instructors. Minimum of MSN degree and national board certification is required.

3.Clinical teaching experience preferred.

4. Current valid Florida Registered Nurse or APRN Licensure required.

5. Current BLS certification required.

6. Ability to demonstrate professionalism by fostering a respectful and supportive learning environment.
