The Music Appreciation Instructor will provide high-quality instruction to students of various backgrounds, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The instructor will be responsible for teaching a college level Music Appreciation course in multiple formats (in-person, online, hybrid, dual credit).

• Teach, conduct, and develop Music Appreciation courses
• Collaborate with other music faculty at Kilgore College
• Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs and goals of students
• Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Stay current with pedagogy and performance practices to ensure high-quality instruction
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
• Other duties as assigned

• Masters in Music, or a Master’s degree or higher with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Music History
• Teaching experience at the college level or in a similar educational setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate students
• Commitment to student success and academic excellence

• Salary for adjunct faculty members is based upon level of education and range from $1,900 per 3-hour course for a master's degree to $2,100 per 3-hour course for a doctorate.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Federal law prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens. All persons hired must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired. Failure to submit proof within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination. All position appointments are subject to approval by the college's Board of Trustees.
