Job Description
SidelineSwap is the #1 online marketplace in sports, and was recently ranked the 13th fastest growing marketplace in the world by a16z, a top venture capital firm that backed Facebook, AirBnB, and Pinterest.
Want to work with, and learn from, our team? We're hiring fall interns to join our Marketing, Merchandising, and Partnerships teams as we build the best buying and selling experience in sports.
As a sports marketing intern, you'll be responsible for researching and creating content that will bring shoppers to SidelineSwap - and allow them to find what they need once they're here.
To be successful, you must:
  • Be a quick learner and a self-starter
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Approach every day with an entrepreneurial mindset (we're looking for doers!)
  • Have a passion for sports

Our fall intern class will be responsible for:
  • Creating marketing content and on-site guidance
  • Identifying potential partners (youth organizations and social media micro-influencers)
  • Maintaining our product catalog

This will be an unpaid internship, but other perks include:
  • Flexible hours (10-20 hours per week)
  • Learning from an experienced team building one of the fastest growing companies in sports.
  • Opportunities to work on paid project
  • SidelineSwap swag

We're committed to offering a great learning experience as you start your career, and we look forward to hearing from you.
Application Exercises (attach with your application)
We receive a lot of internship applications each year. To help us quickly identify the best talent, please complete this short "test" as part of your application.
Pick one:
  1. Create or improve shopping tips (20 minutes): You've been hired to join our marketing team and your first assignment is to create a buying guide for one of our popular categories. To view an example of a buying guide, visit any hockey skates listing and scroll to the item details section, then click the "?" icon next to Skate Size. Use this as an example to write your own brief guide for another detail in another category, or pick one we've already written and improve it. Be thoughtful about which details require explanation for buyers new to a sport. Attach a word doc with your response when submitting your application.
  2. Write a "best of" blog post (30 minutes): Pick a category (ex. Baseball Gloves) and write a blog post ranking the top 5-10 products available in 2020. Include a short review of each product explaining why it made your list. (Ex. https://sidelineswap.com/blog/best-hockey-sticks-of-2020/). Attach a word doc with your response when submitting your application.
  3. Find our next partner (15 minutes): We work with sports organizations large and small to help them raise money, and raise awareness about why their players should buy and sell on SidelineSwap. Create a spreadsheet with 10 sports organizations in your state that are potential partners for SidelineSwap, including the following information: Organization name, Organization Website, Sport, Location, Contact information (name, email, phone number, etc. for the org or organization admins).

Your application will only be considered if you include one of these exercises.
