Position Announcement
Utah Valley University is seeking a student to assist the Physics department!
Summary of Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Correspond with faculty to organize lab demos and equipment.
  • Conduct tutorial sessions for 4-5 hours per week.
  • Answer student emails and questions.
  • Monitor courses on Canvas and provide updates as needed.
  • Help develop and test online homework assignments and assessments on Canvas.
  • Assist with proctoring exams and grade entry.
  • Monitor student progress and address concerns with the instructor.
  • Coordinate efforts with the instructor and other instructional assistants.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Must be a current UVU student.
  • Must have received a B+ or better in any Physics course.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Would be beneficial to have taken and passed PHYS 2010.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Proficiency with Canvas.
  • Ability to provide effective feedback and work with students in a positive way to increase their confidence and proficiency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records, exams, and other sensitive course materials.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, meet deadlines, and follow oral and written instructions.
