Job description

About the Job
 

The successful candidate will work on the testing of electronics for the CMS high granularity calorimeter. Tasks include making measurements of electronics performance, careful handling of electronics which is sensitive to electrostatic discharge, trend analysis of quality control measurements, and packaging and other processes for shipment of components to international collaborators.
Job Duties

  • 80% Carrying out quality-control measurements of electronics
  • 10% Data Analysis
  • 10% Participation in team meetings and coordinating with other team members
  • Other duties of a similar scope as assigned.
Qualifications
 

Required Qualifications

  • Required to have the ability to work with electronics, carefully follow directions and handle electrostatic-sensitive components safely.
  • Experience with data analysis at the
    spreadsheet level required.
  • Required to have a BA/BS in physics or engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronics at the level of PHYS4051 or EE2015/EE2301
Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $15.25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
