Assistant Professor of Special Education, Broken Arrow
Job Description
Northeastern State University's College of Education is seeking applicants for Assistant Professor of Special Education on the Broken Arrow campus.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing and sustaining a research agenda in an area of education Teaching a 12-hour load.
Preparing curriculum that models the use of Oklahoma Academic Standards.
Teaching in multiple delivery modes which include but are not limited to electronic delivery (i.e. blended, online), face to face and arranged.
Preparing for and conducting class sessions and related activities that are relevant, challenging, and motivating which are directed at school reform, school improvement and student centered learning.
Recruiting future candidates and promoting all programs within the College of Education.
Availability during office hours, enrollment periods for advisement of undergraduate and graduate students.
Following the Strategic Plan and Boyer Models, the faculty member will serve on College and University committees, participate in scholarly activities and collaborate with the area schools, community and region to serve the mission of the College and institution.
Education
Qualified candidates will have earned a doctorate in Special Education from an accredited institution. Candidates who are ABD in their doctorate may be considered (salary/rank commensurate).
Experience
Candidates should be able to contribute to and foster collegiality, professional development, and scholarly activity while balancing the needs of a diverse faculty and student body. Teaching experience in higher education is preferred. Candidates should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience in the P-12 field of Special Education. Current teaching license required. Candidates should have experience teaching with an array of distance learning technologies and evidence of working collaboratively with on-campus and off-campus colleagues and constituencies.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Annual Salary $57,940.00 with excellent benefits
Anticipated start date August 3, 2026.
