Education Technician, Learning Support Systems Specialist (LSS) 

Marine Corps University (MCU) / College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) 

Location: Quantico, VA 

Employment Type: Full-Time 

Security Clearance: Secret (Tier 3) 

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Hatalom Corporation is seeking an Education Technician (Learning Support Systems Specialist) to support Marine Corps University (MCU) and Education Command (EDCOM). This position provides technical expertise and operational support for the College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) Learning Support System (LSS), supporting curriculum developers, instructors, and students while ensuring the effective delivery of online and blended learning programs. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Provide technical expertise for using and managing the CDET Learning Support System (LSS) and advise curriculum developers on available system capabilities. 
  • Work with Tier 1 support personnel and management to refine technical support strategies. 
  • Produce multimedia educational course content. 
  • Establish student and instructor LSS accounts and course shells as requested. 
  • Develop and deliver electronic training materials and tutorials on educational technologies for instructors, course directors, Regional Directors, chief instructors, and staff. 
  • Recommend technical solutions to improve course distribution and content delivery across diverse user populations and technical environments. 
  • Develop graphics, user interfaces, HTML5 animations, databases, technical procedure documentation, videos, documents, spreadsheets, and audio files for instructional use. 
  • Conduct research and development of new Learning Support System features. 
  • Coordinate with course developers on the technical aspects of course development within the LSS. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for submitting trouble tickets and coordinating bug fixes, system upgrades, and routine maintenance with the Learning Support System. 
  • Convert assessments for electronic delivery through the Learning Support System and Government assessment tools. 
  • Generate reports detailing student performance, assessment results, and item analysis for examinations and assignments. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Instructional Design, or a related field. 
  • Experience supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Learning Support Systems in an educational or training environment. 
  • Experience creating multimedia instructional content and supporting online learning technologies. 
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and customer service skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and multimedia development tools. 
  • Active Secret (Tier 3) Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or higher education learning environments. 
  • Experience with Moodle, MarineNet, HTML5, SharePoint, or similar learning technologies. 
  • Experience with instructional media development, assessment tools, and data reporting.
