The Arapahoe County government serves its communities in ways both obvious and obscure. NOTE: This assignment is expected to begin the week of October 12 and conclude Tuesday, November 3. Though flexible, the position is expected to work approximately 4 hours per day, 4 days per week.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
This is a part-time, temporary position responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Voter Services Team in the Elections Division of the Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder's Office. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to voters and prospective voters. Hours and duration of assignment may vary.
DUTIES:
CUSTOMER SERVICE DUTIES:
  • Assist customers in person and by telephone by providing specific, complete, and accurate information.
  • Work with voters in a professional and tactful manner to resolve complaints or concerns.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
  • Receives immediate supervision from the Voter Service Manager. May receive supervision from additional members of the county Elections Division.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Aptitude to learn the elections database, process, and equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task calmly and adapt to changing environments.

  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling confidential information.

Education and Experience:
  • High School or GED required

  • Must successfully pass pre-employment testing which includes an acceptable background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The following are some of the physical demands commonly associated with this position.
  • Spends 70% of the time sitting and 30% of the time either standing or walking.
  • Occasionally lifts, carries, pulls or pushes up to 20 pounds.
  • Uses cart, dolly, or other equipment to carry in excess of 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally climbs, stoops, kneels, balances, reaches, crawls and crouches.
  • Verbal and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication through automated devices such as telephones.
  • Constant use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery or equipment.
