Job Description

President Container Group, a leading independent manufacturer of Corrugated Packaging (Sheets, Boxes, Trays, Partitions, Displays etc..) is seeking a full time Continuous Improvement Engineer for it’s factory in rural Orange County, NY( Middletown, NY), 60 miles north of New York City (20 miles from New Jersey and Pennsylvania). President Container, the manufacturing arm of PCG, is one of the largest corrugated plants (over 500,000 square feet) in North America. Our state of the art facility has some of the most up-to-date machinery in the industry, and with it we produce in excess of 2.3 billion square feet of corrugated each year. We are committed to producing sustainable packaging that is clean, safe, and protects the environment and the communities in which we live.

Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement (CI) team is responsible for identifying opportunities to streamline work, reduce waste and identify cost savings opportunities. The dynamic individual we are seeking will support and participate in strategic initiatives across the organization to identify opportunities in the process workflow, plan improvement changes in the current process, execute the changes in process and review how the changes are working for the teams. The individual will work collaboratively to help create efficiencies and quality improvements, as well as gain knowledge in applying lean methodologies.

Responsibilities:

· Analyze key data components (i.e,Costs, FTEs, KPIs etc.) to help with fact-based decision making

· Assist with the identification and prioritization of opportunities where process redesign/improvement can significantly impact efficiency, compliance, quality, profitability, competitive position and customer satisfaction.

· Conduct process improvement initiatives with process owners which includes documenting current process to identify pain points and opportunities, performing supporting data analysis, facilitating the design of the process changes, and supporting implementation of the process change

· Develop and deliver daily and weekly reports to inform and align with key decision makers

Qualifications:


RECENT COLLEGE GRADUATES WELCOME

· Natural leadership skills

· Familiar with continuous improvement process

· Strong time management and organizational skills

· High level of competency in problem solving

· Background in process engineering is a plus

· Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques, tools and principles is a plus

· Ability to drive a Lean culture by working with personnel / team members in the planning, designing and accomplishment of key projects

· Computer skills in Excel, Word & PowerPoint

· Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

· Problem solving and analytical skills

· Enthusiastic , dedicated to the challenge of helping other people

· Ability to learn and apply new concepts as well as overcome obstacles with change

· Ability to work with and influence others in a fast paced environment

· Availability to work shifts as required

· Self-Starter

· Ability to perform under general management guidance
